Mostly Sunny Picks Chanel, Dior, Guerlain Summer 2013

*Welcome to Mostly Sunny Picks. I have been toying with the idea for a while now. I try to remain as objective as I can when I review products, which means quality is my primary concern. However, not everything that is good quality fits my personal preferences and vice versa (sometimes I am willing to work a little more with a product because I like the shade, for example). Mostly Sunny Picks will feature products that I personally enjoy and use more often than others. Discover the pieces I keep going back to from summer 2013!*

Mostly Sunny Picks Dior Coral Glow

I know you might be a bit tired of seeing Dior Coral Glow here already, but the truth is I can’t get enough of it! For someone who is pretty determined to wear coral lipsticks all the way until autumn settles in, the blush side is perfect! It blends really easily, and stays put extraordinarily well (don’t you hate it when your blush disappears halfway through the afternoon?). The bronzer side is the bronzer that eased me into using bronzer. I use it both to contour and to add a bit of summery color to my face.

Mostly Sunny Picks Guerlain Bronze Ora

Eyeshadow-wise, I turned out to love Guerlain Bronze Ora a lot. It’s my new go-to no-brainer shade. It is much less metallic than its coppery sister, Cuivre Ora, and therefore easier to wear (for me). At the same time, there is never a dull moment with all the shimmer and dimension Bronze Ora has! It functions well on its own, but you can always add a darker shade on the outer half for more drama.

Mostly Sunny Picks Chanel Lilis, Dior Samba

Strange as it is, I am more into crème polishes this season. While brands have come up with more exciting and unique shades, my favorites so far are Chanel Lilis and the dusty jade from the Dior Samba duo. Both are shades I can easily sport on my fingers and toes.

Mostly Sunny Picks Guerlain Terra Ora

Guerlain Terra Ora might not be for everyone, but I have been wearing it very often. I like how it subtly highlights and bronzes my skin! Those who are fair-to-medium or medium should be able to get quite some mileage out of this one!

Dior Bikini Diorblush Cheek Creme

I majorly failed by forgetting to include Dior Bikini Diorblush Cheek Creme in the group shot, but here it is! I still don’t have the  impression that the formula has been raved about as much as it deserves, so again I have to encourage you to check these out when you can! It just might be my favorite cream blush formula, and I hope Dior will make it permanent!

How about you? What are your picks from summer 2013?

Sunny, your beauty culture translator xx
